Richard Onalo is an Associate Professor of Paediatrics. He obtained his basic educational training (MBBS) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and postgraduate fellowship program (FMC Paed) from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. In 2020, he obtained a PhD from University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. He is currently the academic and administrative head, Department of Paediatrics, University of Abuja, Nigeria. His research priorities are in children with cardiovascular and hematological conditions. He has done extensive work in sickle cell disease including those on the pattern, duration and control of pain in SCD patients using conventional and adjuvant therapies.
